Requirements
  • Strong expertise in public relations, corporate communications, and media relations, including experience developing integrated communications strategies and managing agency partners.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, including experience developing press releases, executive communications, speeches, blog articles, thought leadership content, award submissions, and media materials.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience partnering directly with senior leaders to provide strategic communications counsel, develop executive messaging, manage approvals, coordinate communications initiatives, and support media and speaking opportunities.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and industry stakeholders while securing meaningful earned media coverage.
  • Experience supporting executive thought leadership through LinkedIn content, speaking engagements, media interviews, and strategic communications planning.
  • Strong understanding of reputation management, issues communications, and crisis response within a regulated or customer-facing industry.
  • Experience measuring communications performance using media monitoring and reporting platforms such as Meltwater, Cision, or similar tools.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to identify compelling stories that support organizational objectives.
  • Ability to leverage artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to improve research, writing, workflow efficiency, and communications planning.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or brand communications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a closely related discipline.
Responsibilities
  • Own Money Mart’s national public relations strategy and annual communications calendar in partnership with the external public relations agency.
  • Lead day-to-day management of the public relations agency by providing strategic direction, creative feedback, approvals, and project management to ensure successful campaign execution.
  • Develop integrated communications plans and a proactive press calendar aligned with business milestones, product launches, seasonal campaigns, research initiatives, and industry trends.
  • Identify opportunities to increase Money Mart’s share of voice through timely, relevant, and newsworthy storytelling.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and approvals to support media opportunities, communications initiatives, conferences, and speaking engagements.
  • Support issues management and reputation communications in partnership with internal stakeholders, Legal, Compliance, and the external public relations agency.
  • Collaborate with the public relations agency to develop press releases, media materials, executive messaging, communication plans, and other external communications.
  • Partner with executive leadership to build external profiles through thought leadership, LinkedIn content, speaking opportunities, and strategic communications.
  • Develop thought leadership articles, blog content, opinion pieces, and executive communications that reinforce Money Mart’s brand narrative, strengthen executive visibility, and support the public relations strategy across owned and earned channels.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage customer stories, proprietary research, and business insights to create communications supporting brand awareness and reputation.
  • Identify and secure speaking engagements, conference opportunities, industry panels, and executive profile opportunities aligned with business priorities.
  • Prepare executives for media interviews, conferences, and speaking engagements by developing briefing documents, key messages, Q&A materials, and communications counsel.
  • Research, identify, and manage award submissions and recognition programs that strengthen corporate reputation, executive visibility, and employer brand.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders to gather business insights, approvals, and supporting information required for communications initiatives.
  • Manage the public relations budget and agency relationships.
  • Measure and report on earned media performance, including media coverage, impressions, reach, sentiment, share of voice, and executive visibility.
  • Analyze communications performance and recommend optimizations to improve awareness, reputation, and engagement.
  • Monitor competitor communications, industry trends, and cultural conversations to identify opportunities and emerging risks.
  • Ensure all external communications align with brand standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate messaging.

With the expansion of its credit facility, Momentum Financial Services Group now has additional capital to fund its growing loan receivables portfolio and meet the needs of its North American customers. The additional funds will be used to repay the 2023 secured loan facility and fuel further expansion in eligible loan receivables.
