Responsibilities
  • Job 1: Increase data accessibility (surface data where people need it when they need it)
  • Job 2: Increase data democratization (make it easier for people to work with the data)
  • Job 3: Increase ROI on data (help stakeholders arrive at insights more quickly, reduce the time it takes to get there)
  • Job 4: Help stakeholders arrive at more precise and actionable insights (i.e., experimentation platforms)
  • Partner with the Director of Data to establish a vision and roadmap for the data platform in order to grow and improve the use of data to drive business decisions throughout the organization
  • Identify gaps in internal users' data experience and bridge those gaps by working with the data solutions team. Current known gaps include data literacy, systems understanding, new data collection requirements, new capabilities for stakeholders
  • Build, own and maintain the backlog of features, capabilities, and general work for the data solutions team that close the gaps above. Prioritize the backlog based on downstream business value and cost of the various work items
  • Participate in standups, iteration planning sessions, product demos and retrospectives
  • Ensure broad awareness throughout the organization of data capabilities: the data we have, who uses it, the general data flow, the purpose that data serves
  • Partner with Finance to understand financial needs and assist in the creation of business plans for new opportunities
  • Partner with the data solutions team to create space to modernize software development practices
  • Formulate, test, and refine assumptions and hypotheses through user research and testing
  • Propose and present future product innovations within the data space
  • Identify opportunities for the sales org as part of the wider data product strategy
  • Engage at a detailed technical level to drive product requirements
  • Define success metrics and SLAs on the key data products and services
  • Proactively provide customer and business context to engineering teams for data initiatives
  • Perform regular ad-hoc data querying and analysis to better understand business and deliver insights on your own and be able to dig deep into data iteratively
Desired Qualifications
  • 3-5 years experience as either a back-end engineer, a B2B product manager, an internal tools product manager, or a data analyst
  • Strong capabilities in analytics tools such as Tableau, advanced Excel, or equivalent
  • Strong proficiency in querying and manipulating large data sets using SQL and experience with business intelligence tools like Tableau, Power BI, Looker, and Excel
  • An understanding of data infrastructure layers including: security, batch ingestion, event-based ingestion, orchestration, data warehousing, data lineage and governance, monitoring, and visualizing/reporting
  • Strong data modeling and data structure understanding and expertise
  • Demonstrated success partnering with product, data science, and stakeholders to deliver results
  • Strong business acumen and creative problem-solving skills to anticipate, troubleshoot, and find effective solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to set annual team strategy in line with company objectives and goals and follow them through to completion
  • Strong product sense with an ability to contribute to product design decisions
