- Ph.D., M.S., or B.S. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field, with a strong focus on deep learning and generative models.
- At least 3 years of research experience in AI, with a proven track record in generative modeling, particularly in fields adjacent to materials science.
- Working knowledge of various generative AI architectures, including transformers, diffusion models, CNFs, and flow matching.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and running large-scale experiments in AI and machine learning.
- Passion for leveraging machine learning for science-related problems and a commitment to doing world-class research.
- Proficiency in Python and relevant machine learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch).
- Strong publication record in top-tier AI/ML conferences or journals.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical ideas clearly and effectively.
- Lead and develop Radical AI's generative foundation models in materials discovery.
- Collaborate with the quantum chemistry team, the atomistic simulation team, the engineering team, and the experimental team to advance model development and integration.
- Design and conduct large-scale experiments to validate and refine promising generative modeling approaches.
- Develop rigorous benchmarks to validate and test the performance of the models.
- Contribute to the AI and materials science research community through publications and active engagement in top-tier AI/ML venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR, as well as the company blog, and participation in conferences and workshops.
- Mentor and guide junior team members and interns, promoting continuous learning and innovation.
- Prior experience in transitioning AI research into production environments.
- Active involvement in the AI research community, with contributions beyond publications, such as organizing workshops or giving talks at conferences.
Radical AI builds AI-powered software that augments radiologists by fitting into existing clinical workflows. Its core product acts as a clinical workflow orchestrator that triages medical imaging studies (such as CT scans and X-rays) by automatically identifying findings that indicate critical conditions and prioritizing those cases in the radiologist’s worklist, so urgent cases are reviewed first. The company targets hospitals and imaging centers with a B2B licensing or subscription model for its AI tools.
