Requirements
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.

  • At least three years of experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club, or similar institution.

  • Ability to stand or walk for up to eight hours per day, bend, stoop, and stretch frequently, and perform moderate to heavy physical effort when required.

  • Ability to see, hear, and communicate with others.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare soups, stocks, sauces, and boiled, braised, and roasted items according to standardized recipes.
  • Prepare and serve sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed, and baked items according to standardized recipes.
  • Prepare or direct the preparation of all food served, including food prepared according to special diet orders.
  • Plan food production to coordinate with meal-serving hours while preserving food quality, temperature, and appearance.
  • Determine the amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and obtain supplies from storage areas in time for meal production.
  • Maintain the assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition.
  • Maintain acceptable personal hygiene standards and comply with the department dress code.
  • Attend assigned in-service training and education sessions.
  • Perform specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
