Responsibilities
  • Manage and build the Virta nursing team, managing your managers while knowing what’s going on on the front lines.

  • Be a player coach: spend 10-20 percent of your time seeing patients and participating in clinical projects.
  • Conduct 20-minute clinical intake visits with prospective patients via video and/or phone. Intakes include verifying and documenting a clinical history, verifying medications, answering basic questions about Virta treatment, and identifying and flagging concerning history or labs for provider review.
  • Educate patients about Virta and Virta’s treatment and helping them prepare for their nutritional and behavioral journey with Virta, setting them up for clinical success.
  • Partner with our providers to advance clinical initiatives.
  • Work closely with our coaching team to assure seamless care for our patients, leveraging coaching, nursing, and clinical resources.
  • Collaborate directly with our provider leaders and serve as a member of the clinical leadership team.
  • Be a creative and flexible leader. Solve clinical problems using the resources at your disposal. Figure out how to say, ‘yes.’
  • Work and manage at scale, optimizing the team for high-performance and counseling low-performers out.

Virta Health focuses on reversing type 2 diabetes through a combination of personalized nutrition, continuous remote care, and behavioral science. Their treatment is designed for individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, healthcare providers, and enterprise partners like employers and health plans. Unlike many healthcare companies, Virta Health operates on a performance-based model, meaning they only receive payment if they achieve successful outcomes for their patients. This aligns their financial incentives with the health improvements of their clients. Their goal is to reverse type 2 diabetes in 100 million people, making them distinct in the healthcare market by prioritizing diabetes reversal over mere management. Their approach has led to significant health improvements and cost savings, contributing to their rapid growth and success in securing funding.
