Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years commercial underwriting experience, with a focus on the construction segment a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree is desired.
  • Must be deemed to effectively speak, read, write, and effectively comprehend English.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Ability to calculate premiums based on exposures and rates.
  • Ability to apply payments and/or refunds to specific invoices and item numbers.
Responsibilities
  • Locate new sales opportunities by visiting existing and new customers and presenting our products and services.
  • Maintain and increase current profitable books of business.
  • Establish and foster client relationships and anticipate and resolve any problems that may arise.
  • Respond expeditiously to customer needs and follow through on all aspects of requests, both written and verbal.
  • Embrace change and participate in activities needed to support the growth of the company.
  • Develop, analyze, select, and profitably price risks of varying complexity with an emphasis on new business production.
  • Provide thorough and clear underwriting proposals and in a timely manner.
  • Achieve agreed upon production and loss ratio goals within assigned book of business.
