Requirements
  • Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license
  • Must meet UNOS and OPTN requirements
  • Completed fellowship in nephrology as well as fellowship in transplant nephrology
  • Board certified in internal medicine and certified / eligible in nephrology
  • At least one year of experience in transplant nephrology
Responsibilities
  • Provide medical leadership to the renal transplant program and practice in Transplant Nephrology and Nephrology
  • Work with the Surgical Director to ensure ongoing clinical operations of the kidney transplant program abiding by UNOS bylaws and CMS regulations
  • Guide evaluation and planning for kidney and heart/kidney transplant patients through all phases of transplantation
  • Participate in growth of the program with leadership team including Patient Selection Committee, QAPI, strategic planning and research initiatives
  • Practice nephrology clinically including inpatient and outpatient nephrology as needed
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows and mentor Transplant Staff
  • Provide ongoing support to care of kidney patients and to transplant staff
Desired Qualifications
  • Leadership experience in a transplant nephrology program
  • Teaching and mentoring experience with medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Experience with quality improvement, patient safety programs and strategic planning within a transplant program
