Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related field
  • Some experience working with Functional Safety Engineers and testing safety goal concepts
  • 2+ year of experience working with Hardware in Loop benches and lab setups
  • Working Knowledge of ISO-26262 and other FUSA related standards and practices
  • Deep knowledge of specified HIL hardware and software tools (MATLAB/Simulink/Opel RT/Typhoon/etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, UDS and related tools to measure and command signals, though scripting or otherwise
  • Ability to optimize build/test flow using scripting languages such as Python/Perl/Unix shell/Etc
  • Proven ability to drive testing through development, execution, analysis, corrective actions, and final report outs
  • Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment

Responsibilities
  • Plan and perform a wide range of HIL tests
  • Maintain focus on test goals during execution and collaborate with test technicians and operators to ensure safe, efficient and accurate testing
  • Evaluate and plan tests in collaboration with stakeholders and partners
  • Develop HIL Requirements to develop and optimize the HIL setups over time
  • Work with integration engineers to identify, generate and implement test cases and validation criteria for a system under test
  • Work with the relevant engineers to meet diagnostic coverage requirements
  • Collect and maintain technical data as a reference for evaluating safety
  • Engage internal safety and controls teams to understand requirements and agree on test expectations
  • Provide input to design teams to ensure designs meet all safety requirements
  • Author accurate, detailed, and comprehensive test reports
  • Participate in and assist with external meetings with industry groups, and partners, as necessary and appropriate, that concern technical aspects of Nuro's safety efforts and safety test results
Desired Qualifications
  • Hands-on hardware experience i.e, familiar with tools, test fixtures, rapid prototyping, and standard automotive equipment Strong knowledge of Vector CAN and Diagnostic analysis tools
  • Troubleshoot various systems and ECUs using lab and measurement equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters as well as tools such as Vector CANoe, CANalyzer etc
  • Linux and Bash experience
