The Maintenance Supervisor must be a safety focused hands-on individual and should be familiar with a broad range of equipment and their function in the plant. The Maintenance Supervisor will monitor and adjust when and where necessary, the prioritization of the maintenance team’s workload passed down from the Maintenance coordinator and Team Leads, they must also communicate effectively with management daily. This position requires Great communication, organizational and computer skills, with a strong understanding of hydraulics, controls, VFD, all types of power, pneumatic and thermal process.
The Job:
- Manage incoming maintenance work orders, set priorities and delegate workloads to the appropriate techs, while ensure PM’s are being completed accurately by the team.
- Make sure effective pass downs are done, checking out parts, adding informative comments and labor to all work orders in a timely manner, at the beginning and end of shifts with appropriate shifts Leads.
- Ensure all Team members are using PPE and LOTO and are acting in accordance to SBD rules and regulations
- Work with Managers, Supervisors and other Team Leads in the plant to resolve any issues, serve as technical interface to product and test engineering, quality on product, and equipment and process issues.
- Responsible for maintenance-controlled areas by keeping them clean and organized at the end of shift, work with Maintenance Manager, Supervisor, and other Team Leads on issues that may come up regarding housekeeping.
- Perform administrative duties related to personnel, including review and approval of timesheets, employee reviews, and employee coaching. As needed, conduct interviews of additional maintenance staff.
- Ensure effective associate relations through efficient communication skills and promote a “TEAM” environment.
- This role requires flexibility in schedule - must be available for long hours, off-shift support (nights, weekends, holidays), and on-call emergencies as needed.
The Person:
- Must have excellent motivational, leadership, and communication skills and the ability to train.
- Strong computer experience including Microsoft office and CMMS systems.
- Strong knowledge of Hydraulics and hydraulic systems
- Strong knowledge of all power types, including 3 phase and control power, CNC equipment and the sub systems that make up the equipment.
- Strong knowledge of batch equipment, as in plating, vibratory, heat treat and induction equipment
Education Required:
- HS Diploma or GED Equivalent, plus 2 years College or Technical School Preferred AM
Work Experience Required:
- 3+ years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor of managing other maintenance professionals.
- 6+ years of experience in large complex equipment used in one or more of the following: scrap metal processing, manufacturing, heavy equipment.
