  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Design/Graphic Communications (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in creative design team leadership positions in marketing, advertising, or digital/integrated media
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative suite as well as Microsoft Office suite
  • Communications design expertise, specifically expertise in conceptualizing documents and presentations that support brand narratives
  • Experience in creating integrated marketing campaigns across print, out-of-home, digital, multimedia, social media, and other outlets
  • Experience with content management systems
  • Experience in high-profile project environments with multiple tasks, input from various sources, and variable deadlines
  • Experience in managing, coaching, and training designers and leading creative concept ideation within a creative team

Responsibilities
  • Work with the SVP, Marketing to grow and evolve, as necessary and appropriate, the overall NYCEDC brand as well as sub-brand architecture across all communications developed by the organization
  • Partner across the External Affairs division and across NYCEDC divisions to establish content strategy and design for all marketing efforts. Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: Integrated campaign development, brand and project design, digital and print advertising, out of home creative, report/research publication design, and informational/promotional collateral
  • Corporate templates and presentations to support impactful executive communications and strong brand identity
  • Oversee two professional designers (Assistant Vice Presidents) to maintain quality and integrity of design and execution
  • Ability and willingness to execute design assignments, as needed
  • Proactively identify new opportunities, resources, tools, and techniques to enhance the creative product across all media channels
  • Collaborate with other Marketing area leads (Content, Planning and Operations) to strategize and incorporate marketing and creative principles into all communications
  • Partner with Vice President, Marketing Operations on creative schedules and deliverables, often involving re-prioritization, adjusting scope and adapting for competing/overlapping timelines
  • As a member of the Marketing leadership team, collaborate with the Senior Vice President, Marketing and other Marketing area leads to support and develop a 'Team Marketing' culture of growth and shared accountability
  • Develop talent; hire, manage, train, and motivate creative staff
  • Other duties as assigned
