Responsibilities
  • Support review and analyze systems architecture diagrams and networks.
  • Assess surety system needs and recommend corrective actions into coherent security strategy.
  • Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) requirements and process and apply ICD 503, NISPOM, and other federal guidelines in support of systems used at contractor facilities.
  • Advise on development, maintenance, and security review of Automated Information Systems (AIS) security plans for computers, networks and information systems deployed and used at contractor facilities, ensuring that all U.S. Government approving signatures are acquired and documented.
  • Conduct technical exchanges meetings to facilitate AIS security solutions for both industrial contractors and government systems; and produce comprehensive solutions to technically complex systems and challenges. Within three business days, complete a TEM Summary report of options, solutions, and recommendations provided and action items.
  • Advise and answer questions regarding program AIS, information security, and cyber defense policies.
  • Ensure discovered cyber incidents, including misuse, virus/malware, penetrations, and data spills are reported per standard operating procedures (SOP); support investigations and remediation/clean up as necessary, and provide guidance in coordination with program security management and other groups as appropriate. Provide Cyber Incident Summary Report (CISR) within 24 hours of completing investigation to program ASO and ISSM.
  • Support investigations and analysis of all data sources, to include Internet, Intelligence Community reporting, security events, firewall logs, unauthorized activity or other cyber security related concerns. Upon discovery of an incident, ensure it is reported immediately per program SOP and provide CISR within 24 hours of completing investigation to program ASO and ISSM. Provide in the Monthly ISSO Activity Report the total number of investigation/analysis completed.
  • Participate in project review meetings and provide technical cyber security guidance/expertise to program personnel.
  • Monitor and respond to centrally collected virus alerts.
  • Assess the technical and performance characteristics of new technologies, as they relate to sponsors’ policies and regulations.
