Responsibilities
  • Lead a small team for innovative platform technology development
  • Develop in vitro or cell-based systems for high throughput screening
  • Design and execute directed evolution processes to engineer gene editing technologies with desired properties, including novel DNA recognition sites, higher sequence-specific activity and specificity
  • Design and construct libraries using rational and combinational methods
  • Build assays to quantify and measure efficacy and specificity of novel technologies in vivo and in vitro
  • Provide training, scientific and personnel management of junior team members
  • Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, or a related field or
  • 1-3 years of industry experience in molecular biology or a related field
  • Molecular biology expertise including plasmid design, molecular cloning techniques such as Gibson assembly and golden gate cloning, primer design, PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA and RNA purification, qPCR, and RT-qPCR
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture, transfections, and cell-based assays
  • Extensive experience in protein structure/function study and protein engineering
  • Molecular biology expertise including plasmid design, molecular cloning techniques such as Gibson assembly and golden gate cloning, primer design, PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA and RNA purification, qPCR, and RT-qPCR
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture, transfections, and cell-based assays
  • Extensive experience in protein structure/function study and protein engineering
