Responsibilities
- Lead a small team for innovative platform technology development
- Develop in vitro or cell-based systems for high throughput screening
- Design and execute directed evolution processes to engineer gene editing technologies with desired properties, including novel DNA recognition sites, higher sequence-specific activity and specificity
- Design and construct libraries using rational and combinational methods
- Build assays to quantify and measure efficacy and specificity of novel technologies in vivo and in vitro
- Provide training, scientific and personnel management of junior team members
- Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, or a related field or
- 1-3 years of industry experience in molecular biology or a related field
- Molecular biology expertise including plasmid design, molecular cloning techniques such as Gibson assembly and golden gate cloning, primer design, PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA and RNA purification, qPCR, and RT-qPCR
- Experience in mammalian cell culture, transfections, and cell-based assays
- Extensive experience in protein structure/function study and protein engineering
- Molecular biology expertise including plasmid design, molecular cloning techniques such as Gibson assembly and golden gate cloning, primer design, PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA and RNA purification, qPCR, and RT-qPCR
- Experience in mammalian cell culture, transfections, and cell-based assays
- Extensive experience in protein structure/function study and protein engineering
