Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in an engineering discipline is required, although the degree may be waived based on significant years of relevant experience.
  • Experience designing aerospace and defense products.
  • Demonstrated experience generating three-dimensional models and two-dimensional drawings.
  • Understanding of customer and military specifications and how they apply to design.
  • Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and its effects on part cost and manufacturability.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills for interacting with various levels of management and customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite software.
Responsibilities
  • Perform conceptual development and modeling of energetic components and systems for aerospace and defense programs.
  • Interact with program teams and customers to ensure designs meet requirements and remain responsible for the design from conception through qualification and production.
  • Develop three-dimensional product models to meet customer design requirements.
  • Select material specifications to meet environmental requirements.
  • Incorporate design for manufacturing, cost, and performance.
  • Generate two-dimensional drawings as required for technical data package creation.
  • Interact with customers on design, interface, and functional details.
  • Support project and operations teams.
  • Support existing products and product upgrades.
  • Participate in failure analysis activities.
  • Perform design trade studies and hand calculations.
  • Perform tolerance studies.
  • Support bid and proposal activities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with computer-aided design (CAD).
  • Experience with SolidWorks is preferred.
  • Experience with energetic materials is a plus.
  • A demonstrated history of driving tasks to closure.
