  • High School Diploma required

  • Office Based Surgical Center/Ambulatory Surgical Center/Vascular Access, Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience preferred
  • Experience in patient care and nursing in procedures with sedation and contrast media
  • Ability to perform point-of-care laboratory testing and IV moderate sedation as directed
  • Ability to scrub and assist the physician during procedures
  • Ability to transport patients and assist with workflow
  • Understanding of HIPAA and medical records policies
  • Ability to participate in CQI activities and regulatory surveys
  • Familiarity with quality improvement tools
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Familiarity with inventory, medication management, and equipment maintenance
  • Ability to maintain sterile technique and infection control
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care pre, during and post procedure under direction of supervisory staff
  • Obtain medical history, discuss procedure, perform nursing assessment, educate patient and family about post-procedure care
  • Monitor patient condition and manage potential complications during procedures including moderate sedation and contrast exposure
  • Serve as scrub technologist during procedures maintaining sterile technique
  • Assist with patient transport and workflow
  • Administer medications and IV moderate sedation per physician orders while complying with regulations
  • Perform point-of-care laboratory testing
  • Perform IV insertions
  • Complete documentation from admission to discharge in accordance with policies
  • Confirm orders, consents, and lab work documented per facility policies
  • Maintain emergency readiness and perform CPR as needed
  • Monitor and maintain facility equipment and environmental safety
  • Assist with CQI meetings and reporting; participate in facility regulatory and accreditation surveys
  • Maintain medical records and complete chart audits; ensure regulatory compliance
  • Assist with inventory management, medication usage logs, and supply stocking
  • Participate in staff training and orientations
  • Adhere to HIPAA and privacy standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher
  • Certification in Vascular Access or Critical Care Nursing
  • Experience in Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Catheterization Lab settings
  • ACLS certification and BLS certification
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems and data analytics
  • Experience with quality improvement projects and CQI tools
  • Knowledge of safety and infection control standards and regulatory requirements
