Requirements
  • At least 7 years of experience in network engineering with a strong focus on load balancing and application delivery.
  • Deep expertise in Layer 4 through Layer 7 networking concepts, including HTTP/S, TCP optimization, persistence, and Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security.
  • Hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP, Citrix ADC, A10, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Domain Name System, Global Server Load Balancing, and global traffic distribution strategies.
  • Experience with cloud load balancing in Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with web application security concepts, including Web Application Firewall, OWASP Top 10, and zero-trust principles.
  • Scripting and automation experience with Python, Bash, or similar tools, plus infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Solid understanding of routing and switching, including BGP, OSPF, and VLANs.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills using packet captures, logs, and performance metrics.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively.
  • Must be locally located and comfortable working a three-days-in-office hybrid model with two remote days.

Responsibilities
  • Engineer, deploy, and manage Layer 4 through Layer 7 load balancing solutions for highly available applications and services.
  • Design and implement traffic management strategies, including SSL offload, content switching, GSLB, and application acceleration.
  • Configure and support F5 BIG-IP, Citrix ADC, A10, or cloud-native load balancers.
  • Optimize application performance through persistence profiles, health monitors, iRules or policies, and traffic-steering logic.
  • Lead capacity planning, failover design, and disaster recovery for application delivery infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot complex network and application performance issues across multi-tier environments.
  • Partner with application, DevOps, and security teams to integrate and deliver services.
  • Implement and maintain secure traffic flows, including WAF integration, TLS best practices, and DDoS mitigation.
  • Automate load balancer provisioning and configuration using Ansible, Terraform, or vendor APIs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and runbooks for traffic engineering and load balancing.
  • Serve as an enterprise-wide authority on technology standards, patterns, and best practices.
  • Guide best-practice adoption, modernization, and migration initiatives across business units.
  • Provide governance for solution design to ensure compliance, security, and performance objectives are met.
  • Mentor engineers and junior architects.
  • Lead proof-of-concepts, solution prototyping, and production deployments.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, and Azure DevOps.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies.
  • Partner with business leaders to translate requirements into actionable technology roadmaps.
  • Produce architectural diagrams, technical documentation, and executive presentations.
  • Advise stakeholders on the value and impact of proposed solutions.

Verra Mobility renews Avis and Hertz contracts but cuts full-year revenue guidance by 6.8%
