Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT-related degree and 7-10 years of experience.
  • Experience conducting Section 508 compliance testing, including automated and manual validation.
  • Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing, Independent Software Quality Assurance, Independent Verification and Validation, and independent validation teams.
  • Experience ensuring testing consistency across unit, functional, integration, and acceptance levels.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and maintaining Software Development Life Cycle traceability.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 standards, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines criteria, assistive technology testing, and federal accessibility guidelines.
  • Proficiency with automated Section 508 tools such as Axe, WAVE, and ANDI, and test dashboards used for User Acceptance Testing coordination.
  • Public Trust eligibility.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee accessibility validation, support independent test cycles, prepare test artifacts, ensure traceability across requirements and test cases, and partner with Agile teams to deliver defect-free, accessible, user-approved functionality.
  • Ensure all code changes undergo Section 508 compliance testing, including automated tooling and accessibility validation.
  • Use automated Section 508 testing tools as part of the continuous integration and continuous delivery pipeline and validation processes.
  • Ensure accessibility defects are identified, documented, and remediated before production release.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing by ensuring testers have clear visibility into test-eligible features through testing dashboards.
  • Provide required technical and functional details to User Acceptance Testing, Independent Software Quality Assurance, and Independent Verification and Validation teams to support independent validation.
  • Support analysis of incidents arising from code quality, expired certificates, resource issues, human error, or accessibility barriers.
  • Participate in Sprint Reviews, Program Increment Planning, and other Agile ceremonies to ensure accessibility and User Acceptance Testing considerations are incorporated early.
Desired Qualifications
  • Section 508 or accessibility certifications.
  • Department of Homeland Security Section 508 Trusted Tester certification.
  • ISTQB or Quality Assurance certification.
  • SAFe Agile certification, including SP, SSM, or PO/PM.
