  • Prefer college level courses or degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, and/or Physical Sciences
  • Laboratory experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent and LabWare LIMS database applications
Responsibilities
  • Perform one procedure or work instruction to a number of analytical microbiological or quality system procedures or work instructions in a Food Safety Laboratory
  • Demonstrate proficiency and growth after training
  • Demonstrate proficiency annually on 75% or more of applicable departmental work instructions
  • Demonstrate proficiency using the LIMS system
  • Perform complex work instructions and/or operate sophisticated equipment without close supervision
  • Work independently and resolve routine problems
  • Assist in the planning, development, method modification, validation, and evaluation of new or existing testing applications and test results
  • Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Maintain ISO records for process control
  • Cross-train and be capable of substituting for absent team members in specific areas
  • Comply with quality system and safety requirements
  • Achieve all performance review goals and an acceptable overall ranking for the last 3 consecutive annual review periods
  • Other duties as assigned
