Requirements
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse license, with Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse preferred.
  • Basic First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Two years of experience in a senior living environment preferred.
  • Successful completion of all company-specified training programs.
  • Effective communication skills consistent with professional standards.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with wellness team members, leadership team, residents, family members, vendor partners, referral sources, and outside contacts.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Ability to present information clearly through spoken communication, read and interpret complex information, speak with residents, family members, and customers, and listen effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Direct all aspects of decision-making using servant leadership.
  • Serve as the Charge Nurse in the absence of the Executive Director and Director of Health and Wellness.
  • Contribute to medication management, including ordering, administration, storage, and documentation, in accordance with state regulations, guidelines, and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure resident rooms and common areas remain clean and safe.
  • Ensure care partners and medication assistants understand residents’ individual conditions and are trained to provide resident services effectively, professionally, and sensitively.
  • Assist residents with self-medication or medication administration.
  • Complete daily recommendations and documentation for a limited nursing license, if applicable.
  • Implement plans of care recommended by the Resident Wellness Director.
  • Implement change-in-condition plans.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation of care provided to residents.
  • Complete resident charting in the electronic health record and assist with assessments as scheduled or when a resident’s condition changes.
  • Complete accident and incident reports as required.
  • Maintain positive relationships with residents, family members, and responsible parties.
  • Prepare for and manage emergency situations, including disasters, fires, and other emergencies.
  • Ensure that adequately trained care partners and medication assistants are available for each scheduled shift in accordance with company and state guidelines.
  • Ensure that team members in the department adhere to dress code and safety standards.
  • Deliver a high level of service, address service failures, and prioritize customer needs.
