Requirements
  • Successful experience at a management engineering level in on-site construction, specifically in civil engineering and/or utilities.
  • Demonstrated application of growing commercial and contractual knowledge.
  • Experience working in a cost-conscious environment.
  • Good people-management experience.
  • Experience managing subcontractors.
  • Experience managing client stakeholders.
  • Relationship building with external parties.
  • Significant knowledge of civil engineering technology and significant previous experience.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the construction site to achieve required project delivery objectives while maintaining health and safety, quality, environmental impact, and cost-control standards.
  • Manage multiple ongoing projects to the specified quality, required programme, and maximum commercial performance.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Department, engineers, and surveyors to complete projects safely while maintaining or exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
  • Ensure the commercial performance of the contract is maximized.
  • Assume responsibility for successful project delivery.
  • Deliver work safely and without environmental incidents.
  • Deliver work to the specified quality without defects.
  • Ensure production and implementation of project plans and management plans in line with company procedures.
  • Produce procurement schedules and liaise with the procurement department to ensure sites have adequate resources.
  • Interface with the client.
  • Deliver the end product to customer satisfaction.
  • Control costs and maximize project value.
  • Maintain detailed site diaries and records.
  • Maintain commercial tension to drive out costs and challenge the status quo.
  • Identify and highlight value-engineering opportunities.
  • Produce accurate monthly reports for the client and internally.
  • Chair weekly site meetings in line with company procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • Airport or other critical-area experience.
  • Experience working in an international organization.
  • Experience managing stakeholders other than the client.
  • Membership in the Institution of Civil Engineers or an equivalent professional body.
