Requirements
  • An earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution, to be completed no later than December 2026; ABD candidates may be considered if they can demonstrate the ability to meet this requirement.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in research.
  • Candidates applying for the Associate Professor rank must demonstrate a strong track record of success in teaching, research, and service consistent with that level.
  • Finalists must provide official transcripts of their highest degree achieved.
  • Finalists must undergo a criminal conviction investigation.
  • Applicants must submit a cover letter specifically addressing qualifications for the essential job functions, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching interest and philosophy, and a statement of research interest and a research plan.
Responsibilities
  • Teach a course load of 24 contact hours per academic year, with a 3-credit remission in the first academic year.
  • Instruct both theory and laboratory courses in the Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Technology programs.
  • Conduct assessment activities associated with ABET accreditation.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to student success through active learning, high student engagement, and teamwork-focused pedagogical approaches.
  • Advise and mentor students.
  • Develop a strong research program involving collaboration with students and faculty.
  • Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank.
  • Participate in institutional and community service.
  • Contribute to ongoing program development.
  • Implement inclusive instructional strategies to support students from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds at UW-Green Bay.
