Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field is required.
  • Three to five years of professional experience in student leadership, student engagement, or a related area is required.
  • Ability to work occasional weekend and evening hours is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with program assessment and familiarity with Council for Advancement of Standards (CAS) Standards are required.
  • Ability to work effectively as a collaborative team member is required.
  • Strong advising, facilitation, interpersonal, communication, and program development skills are required.
  • The position requires Campus Security Authority responsibilities under the Clery Act, including reporting Clery-qualifying crimes to the Department of Public Safety and completing annual training.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Program, including content refinement, coordination, development, and facilitation of student leader training, and advisement of student leadership teams and student facilitators.
  • Manage the Women's Leadership Program, including the Orientation Week Brunch, Fall Symposium, and Winter Symposium, as well as content refinement, coordination, development, and facilitation of student leader training and advisement of a leadership team.
  • Develop and implement assessment plans aligned with CAS Standards, including measurable learning outcomes and program evaluation metrics for student leadership initiatives and trainings.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Student Leadership on parent and family programming and communications, including orientation, family weekend events, monthly communications, the W&L General Parent and Family Course, informational webinars, and mailings.
  • Support the coordination, planning, and execution of the annual Leadership Excellence Awards ceremony, including promotion of nominations, coordination with the student committee and campus partners, and management of nomination and recipient information.
  • Support the planning, design, and assessment of character education and development programs, including student retreats, reflective dinners, and workshop series.
  • Develop and implement programs supporting the transition and success of first-generation college students and under-resourced students.
  • Advise and support student affinity groups with leadership development, program planning, and budget management.
  • Engage in initiatives, trainings, and educational opportunities hosted by the Division of Student Affairs.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive plan to design and deliver trainings for student organizations and student leaders.
  • Serve as a member of the AIM Scholars Summer Program leadership team.
  • Manage budgets and ensure responsible resource allocation.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
