Geotab is seeking a Manager, Business Development - Specialty who will be responsible for the growth and development of strategic business relationships, providing vision for sales strategies and the associated execution plan within the specialty market. What you’ll do:
As a Manager, Business Development - Specialty your key area of responsibility will be managing a team of Business Development Manager’s (BDMs), the team is responsible for introducing advanced technical solutions to large customers in speciality segments; including construction, off-road, and utility. The team is also responsible for supporting Resellers with their opportunities, and building relationships with strategic partners that are integrated with the Geotab Ecosystem.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Create, evaluate, and implement strategic business plans for the growth and development of opportunities within the Specialty Markets that may include Construction, Off-Road, Utility.
- Support BDM team with development and management of new business opportunities within the assigned markets, divisionally, regionally, and internationally.
- Responsible for the expansion of Resellers focused on the Specialty Market.
- Network and manage relationships with key strategic partners that are integrated with the Geotab ecosystem and focused on the Specialty Market.
- Devise and deploy all sales goals and objectives pertaining to the Specialty Markets.
- Provide expert project leadership and guidance to the team as SME.
- Oversee the activities and performance of direct reports; provide direction, coaching and mentorship to the team, engage in the development of the team, and collaborate and support employees during the performance management process, meeting KPAs and career development planning.
- Develop marketing initiatives to develop brand awareness and Geotab offerings for the Specialty Market.
- Attend trade shows and conferences to build company credibility, brand presence and identify potential new business opportunities.
What you’ll bring to this role:
- 8+ years experience in sales, business development or solutions engineering.
- Experience selling to large specialty fleets.
- Previous experience in a leadership capacity, preferred.
- Able to anticipate and understand customers’ needs and provide viable solutions.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with delivering presentations and training.
- Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve well-judged decisions.
- Strong time management skills, an effective multi-tasker.
- Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides), Salesforce.
