Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • LOFT’s Southlake Town Square return in August 2026 restores visibility in a strong trade area.
  • KnitWell selected ESW on July 16, 2026, accelerating international ecommerce growth.
  • StyleRewards keeps LOFT attached to Ann Taylor demand, increasing repeat visits and basket size.

What critics are saying

  • KnitWell closed LOFT stores in Durham and Whitehall in 2026, signaling weaker productivity.
  • ESW now handles cross-border commerce, exposing LOFT to execution risk during global expansion.
  • If Southlake’s comeback stalls, LOFT remains a replaceable mall tenant with shrinking leverage.

What makes Loft unique

  • KnitWell pairs LOFT with Ann Taylor, Talbots, and shared StyleRewards cross-shopping.
  • LOFT’s petite, tall, and maternity assortments widen fit coverage beyond standard mall rivals.
  • The brand still commands prime centers, returning to Southlake Town Square in 2026.

Your Southlake Town Square update.

Your Southlake Town Square update. Nike Is Out, LOFT Is Back, L'Occitane Has A New Address August 18, 2026 9:00 AM Southlake Town Square has never been particularly shy about changing things up. This summer, however, the retail shuffle feels especially noticeable. Familiar storefronts are disappearing, some old names are returning, and even one longtime retailer is simply moving a few doors down. Here are three of the latest changes shoppers should know about. Nike: The Swoosh Has Left the Building The athletic giant has abruptly closed its Southlake Town Square location at 181 Grand Ave., ending a four-year run that began when the store opened in 2022. The closure is part of a much larger Nike retail retreat. The company has closed or announced closures at numerous stores around the country this summer, including locations in Tampa, Louisville, Lexington, Kansas City, The Woodlands, Atlanta, Alpharetta, San Jose, Hoboken, Bethesda, Cary ,and Naperville. Nike continues to have a presence nearby, including its clearance store at Grapevine Mills, but for Town Square shoppers, one of the Square's most recognizable athletic brands has officially moved on. Bottom line: If your usual Town Square shopping trip included Nike, you'll need a new stop. LOFT: An Old Favorite Gets a New Home LOFT is coming to Town Square, taking over the former Eddie Bauer space on Main Street. That's a bit of a retail homecoming for LOFT, which previously operated at Town Square before closing its longtime location. Now, the women's apparel brand is set to return to the Square. For shoppers who remember LOFT's previous Town Square presence, the return should feel less like a new tenant and more like an old friend moving back into the neighborhood. Bottom line: LOFT is back - just in a different spot. L'Occitane: Same Store, New Address L'Occitane en Provence has relocated within the Square, moving from its longtime location at 1428 Civic Place to a new storefront at 1251 Main Street. The move is expected to bring a more modern, spa-like environment to the French beauty and skincare retailer. The store sells fragrances, skincare, soaps, bath products, and other personal-care items inspired by Provence. Bottom line: Same shea butter. New digs. QUICK HITS Ascension Coffee is coming... The Dallas-born coffee favorite is targeting August, taking over the former Corner Bakery space. ON Running is coming... The Swiss performance brand is targeting the second half of 2026 for its first Tarrant County storefront, a 6,000-square-foot space between Alo and Sunglass Hut. Reformation is here... The Los Angeles fashion brand is now open at 213 Grand Ave. E.! Rothy's is here... The sustainable footwear brand has already opened its Town Square storefront at 307 Grand Ave. E. BYLT is coming... The men's apparel brand is headed to Southlake Town Square, taking over the former Francesca's storefront at 214 State St. A "Coming Soon" sign is now posted at the location, though BYLT has not publicly announced an opening date. The brand is known for elevated everyday basics, including polos, tees, pants, shorts and performance apparel. Crate & Barrel is here... The home retailer opened its new full-line store June 25 in the former Market by Macy's space at 321 State St.
