Requirements
  • Medical degree from an accredited school.
  • Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved postgraduate training program in General Surgery.
  • Successful completion of the requirements of the American Board of Surgery for certification in General Surgery.
  • Completion of a General Surgery residency.
  • Board certification or eligibility.
  • An unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Washington.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration registration.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
  • Appropriate privileges and membership on the Olympic Medical Center Medical Staff.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation and care to patients presenting with general surgical problems, including critically ill patients and non-complex pediatric patients.
  • Support Olympic Medical Center’s Level III Trauma Center designation and program.
  • Provide person-centered care to rural patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of practice in General Surgery is preferred but not required.
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support certification is recommended.
