Summary: The Accounting Supervisor/Manager is responsible for supporting most aspects of accounting management,assisting with the preparation of statements that follow all regulatory and accounting guidelines, and the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities includes, but not limited to:
- Support most aspects of accounting management (billing, tax forms, reporting etc.)
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
- Manage the financial accuracy of journal entries, invoices, etc.
- Prepare or review balance sheet reconciliations monthly
- Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts
- Supervise payroll and general accounting teams
- Drive coordination across multiple departments for internal and external audits
- Assist in development of reports for management or regulatory bodies
- Assist in the documentation and implementation of new accounting standards
- Identify opportunities for key process automation with using tools like RPA, Power BI, etc
- Drive efficiencies and consistencies within Blackline (reconciliation software)
- Provide assistance in documenting current and future state workflows for new ERP implementation to identify process efficiencies
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or closely related field
- 4+ years of experience in Accounting in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Solid knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS regulations
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
- Working knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) and accounting software
- Highly motivated and able to manage multiple activities, projects, and effectively communicate results
