Responsibilities
  • Directing and supervising the department manager with all aspects of daily operations
  • Ensuring the quality, freshness and product assortment is maintained throughout the grocery department(s)
  • Receiving, stocking and rotating product
  • Facing product and taking special orders
  • Training new associates
  • Providing exceptional customer service
  • Achieving sales and profit goals established for the department
  • Maintaining appropriate product assortment and inventory levels
  • Ordering product based on past and projected sales
  • Pulling out of date product from the shelves
  • Ensuring company standards for safety, sanitation and productivity are maintained
  • Teaching, mentoring and educating associates
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned
  • Consistent and daily interaction with store associates, customers, and vendors
