Its approach rests on the The Renfrew Center Unified Treatment Model for Eating Disorders, an evidence-based, emotion-focused therapy that combines individual and group therapy with a wide range of supporting services tailored to each level of care. Compared with others, Renfrew stands out as a pioneer (since 1985) and the first residential eating disorder facility, backed by broad insurance acceptance and preferred provider status. What believers are saying

  • Renfrew's 36th anniversary conference in 2026 deepens clinician referrals and brand authority.
  • Day Treatment at Coconut Creek started in 2025, expanding lower-acuity revenue and patient funnel depth.
  • 2026 Eating Disorders Awareness Week campaigns keep Renfrew visible while competitors battle for search traffic.

What critics are saying

  • Private equity-backed competitors can outspend Renfrew on marketing, clinician recruiting, and digital referrals.
  • Orthodox Jewish specialty care narrows demand and invites copycat programs from Castle Connolly-style networks.
  • An adverse payer contract or clinical scandal would damage admissions quickly across Renfrew's referral-heavy model.

What makes The Renfrew Center unique

  • Renfrew Center pioneered residential eating-disorder care and has treated 100,000 patients by 2026.
  • Renfrew operates 18 locations plus virtual care across major East Coast and Sun Belt markets.
  • Renfrew launched an Orthodox Jewish treatment track, tailoring meals, groups, and kosher support.
