Responsibilities
Develop and implement a new website based on a template provided by AUTHORIZED USER, adhering to VITA’s web standards and requirements, with an intuitive content management system for content edits.
Transition from the existing website to the new site at the domain www.dhp.virginia.gov.
Provide training for board and program staff on using the chosen CMS.
If needed, provide training for the agency’s Data division on best practices regarding server-side configuration, database management and security protocols.
Configure and deploy WordPress or Drupal CMS in a Windows environment with Microsoft SQL Server databases.
Ensure the redesigned website is responsive across devices and accessible, with consistent templates across all agency boards and programs.
Ensure the CMS supports multiple users and appropriate permission delegation for editing tasks.
Adhere to Virginia’s Web Site standards and IT accessibility standards.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data security and privacy for confidential information.
Plan and execute transitional downtime minimal or zero during the switch.
Provide ongoing support and maintenance as required.
