Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification and/or experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a GxP or other highly regulated manufacturing environment, preferably including 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries, aseptic processing, and/or packaging operations.
  • Fundamental knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, including GxP and Environment, Health and Safety.
  • Knowledge of quality systems management, including non-conformance, change control, and corrective and preventive action.
  • Knowledge of equipment troubleshooting, maintenance strategies, and maintenance systems.
  • Knowledge of resource planning, scheduling, and prioritization.
  • Knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications, including Maximo, SAP, Learning Management Systems, Process Control Systems, and Electronic Batch Records.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to shift maintenance teams supporting manufacturing processes while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Manage execution of the maintenance plan through daily handovers, coordination, technical meetings, and planning meetings with plant stakeholders.
  • Operate as part of the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality leadership team on the production floor, escalating and communicating unplanned events through agreed processes.
  • Provide on-shift cover for shift maintenance managers during planned absences.
  • Assign work to technician teams and actively manage resources and shifts to support daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
  • Ensure adherence to GxP and standard operating procedure requirements for tasks assigned to and executed by the team.
  • Support investigations into process deviations and corrective and preventive action execution and closure.
  • Supervise work execution and safety compliance, identify improvement opportunities, conduct safety walks, and provide technical input into incidents and investigations.
  • Support management of system access, training, and qualification compliance, including coordination of equipment access, training, and vendor-supported work across shifts.
  • Assist in delivering the monthly maintenance plan across production suites by coordinating access to highly utilized equipment.
  • Administer work orders in the computerized computerized maintenance management system, Maximo, ensuring documentation is accurate and contemporaneous.
  • Align forecasted maintenance hours and resources with planning teams and refine execution plans to balance priorities cross-functionally.
  • Coordinate responses to emergencies and equipment breakdowns by minimizing maintenance downtime and executing corrective maintenance efficiently.
  • Ensure each shift's completed work is documented and handover communication is standardized, robust, and comprehensive.
  • Identify waste and remove plant bottlenecks and flow interrupters.
  • Provide technical support and coordination for engineering trials and equipment-related project activities.
