Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of our Chicago, IL, Norfolk, VA, or Walnut Creek, CA Elevance Health PulsePoint office(s).

This Data Science Intern will be responsible for supporting our Finance team in operational tasks supporting and building AI models. During the Summer program, this intern will have opportunities to do innovative work, be responsible for developing programs and solutions based on business priorities, and gain knowledge of the intersection between finance and technology within the healthcare industry.

This internship will be a full-time (40 hours/week) program that will run for 12 weeks (May 19th, 2025 – August 8th, 2025).

How you will make an impact:

• Work with datasets of moderate size and complexity.

• Execute algorithms to address specific business problems under direction of mentor or manager.

• Support the development and visualization of analysis output for business users and publish results under the direction of mentor or manager.

• Partner with team to build and refine AI models

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship and work in-office at least once per week.

• Actively pursuing an Undergraduate Degree in either Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related program.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

• Knowledge of Machine Learning/LLM knowledge, Data visualization, Python, SQL, Power BI, Statistics, Deep Learning Algorithms & Big Data Technologies (Hadoop as an example), Natural Language Processing, Software knowledge, and Automation

• Excellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency within the Microsoft Office Suite

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $20.64/hour to $29.48/hour.
