Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One to three years of office experience, including a minimum of one year in benefits administration, is required.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations is required.
  • The ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • The ability to communicate in English is required.
  • The role requires physical attendance at the primary work location.
  • The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds and must be able to sit for long periods, occasionally stand and walk, use hands and fingers, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, and hear.
Responsibilities
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, supplemental coverage, retirement, flexible spending accounts, and pet insurance.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect data under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act industry compliance standards.
  • Educate employees about benefit options through walk-in and telephone customer service, benefit guides, and mass communications.
  • Handle benefit inquiries and complaints and provide timely, equitable, and courteous resolutions.
  • Run reports in the human capital management system, reconcile benefit invoices, and submit approved invoices for monthly payment.
  • Administer the service award program and resolve related questions and issues.
  • Process benefit premium payments for employees on leave of absence.
  • Work with auditors and payroll on the annual 401(k) audit by preparing and uploading documents, running reports, and answering questions.
  • Administer general leave of absence and Family and Medical Leave Act programs, track absences, communicate with managers, and coordinate with human resources generalists.
  • Support open enrollment by working with the broker, preparing announcements, reviewing benefit guides, arranging employee meetings, coordinating carrier integrations, configuring the human capital management system, and processing enrollments for activation.
  • Administer mandatory recordkeeping and reporting for Affordable Care Act compliance.
  • Coordinate wellness events such as flu shot clinics and blood drives.
  • Assist department team members and perform other human resources duties assigned by the Human Resources Director.
  • Provide friendly and competent customer service.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree in business is preferred.
  • Previous human resources experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, customer service, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving abilities are desired.
