Why we need you

Mandolin’s customer pipeline is growing faster than our deployment bandwidth. Every new clinic or payer arrives with its own data models, approval flows, and performance targets—yet they expect the platform to run flawlessly from day one. We’re adding a Forward-Deployed Engineer who thrives on that challenge: someone who can sit with end users, trace the bottlenecks, translate the findings into clean TypeScript, and watch the automation go live the same week.

Working side-by-side with a senior lead, you’ll run on-site discovery sessions, turn integration specs into production code, and verify that dashboards populate and tasks close without manual touch. Your firsthand insights flow straight into our product backlog, shaping features that make the next rollout faster. It’s a role for an ambitious engineer who prefers customer floors to ivory towers and measures success in real-world uptime and user smiles.

What you’ll do

• Implement customer-specific configs and lightweight integrations under guidance of a senior FDE.

• Visit customer sites to gather requirements, test workflows, and train end users.

• Troubleshoot data issues and refine mappings so dashboards, tags, and automations run cleanly.

• Document lessons learned and propose improvements to Mandolin’s deployment playbook.
  Relay frontline feedback to product and engineering, advocating for features that remove repetitive custom work.

Must-have experience

• 0–3 years engineering experience (internships or full-time).

• Solid coding fundamentals with TypeScript.

• Strong communicator who enjoys direct customer interaction.

• Quick learner able to navigate ambiguous requirements and tight timelines.

• Founder-mindset: proactive, resourceful, and deeply customer-focused.

• Willingness to travel domestically (up to 25 %).

Nice-to-haves

• Previous founder experience

• Projects involving API integrations, ETL scripts, or healthcare data.

• Exposure to revenue-cycle or EHR systems.

• Experience in fast-growing startups or consulting rotations.

• Familiarity with observability tools (Sentry, Grafana, etc.).
