About the Role

As a Principal Engineer, Enterprise Data & Analytics Architecture, you will address the data and reporting needs across all enterprise functional areas.  You will help define and implement solutions, ensure data quality, and manage systems surrounding the handling of data.  This role will work with IT colleagues, business stakeholders, and various vendors.

Let’s talk about some of the key responsibilities of the role:

• Work with internal customers to gather requirements and fulfil analytic needs across the enterprise.
• Work with IT and business leadership team define and own short- and long-term Enterprise Data Strategy and roadmap
• Design and implement repeatable implementation patterns to consume application data and make it available for reporting or analytics.
• Manage cloud infrastructure collaboratively with vendors in a manner which supports the continued growth of Tarsus.
• Implement and document data processing, reporting solutions, and solutions. You’ll have an eye toward scalability of solutions and clarity of documentation.
• Establish good Information Security, Legal, and Privacy practices to ensure sensitive data remains secure and Tarsus remains compliant to laws about data sharing and privacy.
• Solve complex data problems independently and collaboratively through hands-on development and troubleshooting.
• Possess strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate data management subject matter to a non-technical/unfamiliar internal customer.
• Support and train business users on how to use data to present the information correctly in visualization tools.

Factors for Success:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or business with more than 12 years of relevant work experience in architecting and implementing analytic solutions, in biotech, pharmaceutical and life sciences industry.
• Hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining data and analytics capabilities using new and advanced data platforms and development tools.
• Modeling and report/visualization experience with Power BI products.
• Modeling and report/visualization experience with Tableau products.
• Experience with cloud-based databases and data processing tools, specifically Azure SQL Server and Azure Data Factory.
• Hands-on experience working with various pharmaceutical or life sciences data sources such as IQVIA, specialty pharmacies and data aggregators and integrating them with other systems such as Veeva CRM, Sales Force Marketing Cloud etc.
• Exposure to working with clinical, finance and supply chain data from internal and external sources.
• Familiarity with agile development and project management methodologies.
• Experience in developing dashboards and reporting in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to advanced capabilities such as AI and ML will be a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, attention to detail, and good experience in working in a fast-paced organization with conflicting priorities and the ability to prioritize them based on the criticality and risks.

• The position will be based in our beautiful Irvine office, complete with a courtyard, snacks, drinks, and occasional catered meals. We provide a hybrid work environment.
• This position reports directly to the Director, Enterprise Data and Analytics Analyst.
• Some travel may be required – up to 5 to 10%

At Tarsus, we understand the importance of attracting and retaining top talent. The expected base pay range for this position is $158,200 - $221,600 plus bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits. The base pay range reflects the target range for this position, but individual pay will be determined by additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
