We are in an increasingly busy restructuring market and our Turnaround & Restructuring Services (TRS) practice has ambitious growth plans - this has created opportunities for individuals from a range of backgrounds. Composed of the most respected financial restructuring professionals in the industry, AlixPartners is widely recognised for its long and successful record in helping its clients resolve urgent situations and implement rapid change.
We are currently seeking a Director with a background working in contingency planning and insolvency situations. In TRS, we work closely with clients to preserve value often implementing solutions using formal UK and international restructuring tools and most importantly, our practical expertise. We excel in complex distressed situations, often involving multiple jurisdictions and diverse stakeholder groups.
What you’ll do
We are looking for a London-based Director who has an exceptional track record of achieving results for their clients in financial restructuring situations. We’re seeking a smart, pragmatic, and results-focused individual, who can operate on a range of UK based as well as international engagements. We are keen to attract people who can contribute to AlixPartners’ reputation for driving positive change for the immediate and long-term success of our clients. Directors are the future leaders of AlixPartners and will contribute to business generation efforts while driving commercially successful engagements in a ‘hands-on’, professional, and energetic manner. They collaborate with colleagues across the world as well as engage with and promote the firm’s broader capabilities.
What you’ll need
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Relevant and hands-on project management experience in financial restructuring gained in consulting, private equity, banking, or industry.
- University degree as well as a relevant post graduate qualification (e.g. Accounting).
- Established and growing network of professional contacts/clients at either law firms, banks, private equity, investment banks, industry or credit funds.
- JIEB qualification is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable experience in the majority of the following services/tools is essential:
- Contingency planning
- Options analysis
- Pre-pack administrations
- Distressed AMA sale processes
- Creditor voluntary liquidations
- Restructuring Plans & Schemes of Arrangement
- Non-UK restructuring tools, e.g. US Chapter11, Cayman Provisional Liquidations, etc.
- Independent business reviews
- Review and preparation of 13-week short term cash flows and trading administration overlays
- Company Voluntary Arrangement
- Preparation of entry priority models and estimated outcome
Skills & competencies
- Strong financial analysis and modelling skills with a solid understanding of financial statements.
- Experience in, or good understanding of undertaking statutory and compliance related tasks.
- A track record of consistently delivering high-value work to meet client needs.
- Experience of supervising other professionals, acting as a positive role model and able to motivate others as a mentor, coach, and leader.
- Experience of working on creditor and debtor side mandates.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Use of a systematic approach to identify key issues and examining those issues thoroughly to formulate appropriate solutions.
- Advanced written communication skills, able to prepare well laid out, easily understood analysis and presentations.
- Articulate communication of information, with audience-appropriate adaption.
- Delivery of influential client communications with clarity and confidence.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Ability to build relationships with clients and peers.
- Responsibility for business development and marketing initiatives.
- Delivery of structured training programmes to junior members of the team.
- Experience in recruitment and team growth.
- Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, and in particular as unique projects/needs arise.
