Requirements
  • A doctorate degree, or a master's degree with 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or biotechnology industry, or a bachelor's degree with 5 years of such experience, or an associate's degree with 10 years of such experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 12 years of such experience.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead all aspects of a small manufacturing production area or a section of a larger production area in an Inspection and Packaging facility.
  • Maintain production in full current Good Manufacturing Practice compliance.
  • Supervise, hire, and develop staff and ensure production schedules are completed.
  • Evaluate and approve reports and protocols.
  • Ensure current Good Manufacturing Practice and Code of Federal Regulations compliance of manufacturing areas.
  • Revise, update, and review procedures.
  • Coordinate the development and revision of standard operating procedures.
  • Evaluate manufacturing procedures and recommend changes to management to optimize production.
  • Ensure corporate change-control procedures are followed and Regulatory and Quality Assurance are notified before changes.
  • Interact with the Food and Drug Administration.
  • Ensure company policies are followed.
  • Ensure maintenance and revalidation of systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance/Quality Control, Production Planning and Inventory Control, Clinical Manufacturing, Process Development, and Regulatory, to complete production activities.
  • Develop, implement, and assess solutions to problems.
  • Resolve problems during operations.
  • Coordinate the setup of critical new manufacturing processes.
  • Select, train, evaluate, and develop staff and manage staff relations.
  • Ensure training programs are maintained.
  • Schedule production and maintenance activities.
  • Interact with management to optimize organizational structure and responsibilities.
  • Ensure plant safety through audits and evaluations.
  • Interact with management to plan, develop, and maintain the budget.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining department goals.
  • Support a rotating 12-hour schedule that cycles every two weeks, with three days one week and four days the next.

Amgen and AstraZeneca lung cancer drug combo meets survival goal in phase III study
