Key Responsibilities

Profile of the Job Holder:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. 
• 10–15 years of relevant experience in product design, development, and engineering. 
• Proven leadership abilities—leading technical teams, influencing decisions, mentoring junior engineers. 
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills. 
• Highly self‑driven, structured, and capable of making sound decisions in ambiguous or evolving situations. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive accountability within teams. 
• Demonstrates empathy, collaborative mindset, and strong relationship‑building capability.

Key Skill & Knowledge Profile:

•  Strong proficiency with SolidWorks 3D modeling, engineering drawings, BOM creation. 
• Expert understanding of hydraulic & pneumatic systems (pumps, motors, valves, reservoirs, cylinders, accumulators, filters). 
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; highly detail‑oriented.

Proficiency in tolerance stack-up, GD&T, product form-fit-function. 

• Strong understanding of materials, mechanical behavior, fatigue and strength theories. 
• Experience in DFMEA, PFMEA, DFA/DFM, DoE, root-cause analysis. 
• Knowledge of product development processes (PDP, NMO, ETO). 
• Benchmarking, feasibility studies, design rules, and design validation knowledge. 
• Proficiency in MS Office tools; familiarity with PLM systems (Windchill)

• Ability to coach, mentor, and technically guide engineers.

Key Responsibilities(Products & Process):

Product Development Leadership

• Lead and own complete product development lifecycle—from concept creation to design validation and release.
• Guide the team in applying PDP methodology and DfSS tools to ensure robust engineering decisions.
• Provide technical leadership on concept evaluation, feasibility studies, and manufacturability (DFM).
• Define and institutionalize product design rules and engineering standards for the team.
• Drive traceability of requirements across concept, design, validation, and release phases.
• Ensure alignment of designs with business goals, product strategy, and customer expectations.

Reviews & Reporting:

• Lead technical gate (TG) reviews, ensuring technical rigor and documentation completeness. 
• Ensure project compliance with schedule, quality standards, and cost targets. 
• Guide teams in risk identification, mitigation planning, and decision-making under constraints. 
• Review engineering deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and manufacturability.

Team Leadership & Mentoring

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; provide coaching on technical competencies and career development.
• Assign responsibilities to team members and monitor progress and performance.
• Facilitate technical knowledge-sharing sessions and capability-building initiatives.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

• Lead Kaizen/CI initiatives to improve engineering productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Champion PFMEA, DFMEA, RCA, and corrective & preventive action processes.
• Promote standardization and reusable knowledge assets within engineering.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Act as the technical interface to internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and global teams.
• Communicate project updates proactively and transparently.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment on design, manufacturability, and testing requirements.

Innovation & Strategic Contribution

• Lead development of innovative concepts and contribute to patentable ideas.
• Support organizational innovation programs, idea jamming, and technology evaluations.
• Influence product strategy through insights from benchmarking and market understanding.
