Social Work Educator

Role Scope: The Social Work Educator will lead the onboarding and training of Habitat team members on-site at PACE Centers, with an emphasis on Master’s-level Social Workers, Social Work Supervisors, and other participant-facing psychosocial support roles. This role works as an extension of the Centralized Education Team within the Practice Operations team, leading and providing oversight of onboarding, practicum and shadowing activities of assigned roles at the Center. This role will also be an operational subject matter expert, helping ensure consistency in onboarding, training, workflows, documentation, and best practices across social work programs. The Social Work Educator will be responsible for delivering didactic trainings, conducting competency reviews, competency signoffs, skills validation, and preceptor checklist oversight for team members as they progress through their onboarding process. This role will partner closely with Practice Operations, Center Leadership, People Team and the other functional educators to maintain and optimize workflows, training materials, and operational resources ensuring clinical and operational best practices — including psychosocial assessment, care planning, crisis response, and interdisciplinary team (IDT) collaboration — are implemented consistently across the organization. The position balances direct educational responsibilities with process improvement and program development activities to support high-quality participant care, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and team member engagement.

Core Responsibilities & Expectations for the Role

• Field-based owner of training oversight and fidelity for assigned roles — Master’s-level Social Workers, Social Work Supervisors, and others as needed.
• Leads the on-site learning experience for existing and new center launches within their assigned roles across centers.
• Manages the training, practicum, and shadowing assignments and logistics within the Centers for new social work team members.
• Collaborates with Center leadership to oversee the completion of competency signoffs, skill validation, and preceptor checklists for social work and related roles in the Center.
• Performs scheduled visits to all assigned centers in the region, supporting leaders and Center Champions with ongoing learning needs.
• Partners with the Learning & Development central hub to design and coordinate on-site learning opportunities that support role readiness and capability development, including psychosocial assessment, care planning, grievance and crisis response, and community resource navigation.
• Works with SMEs, Center Leaders, and People Team partners to ensure learning programs meet business needs and reinforce Habitat’s culture and capabilities.
• Serves as a subject matter expert for social work operations, processes, and best practices.
• Collaborates with leaders and stakeholders to develop, document, and improve social work workflows and standard operating procedures.
• Reviews existing processes and recommends improvements to increase efficiency, quality, compliance, and consistency.
• Creates, updates, and maintains role playbooks, reference materials, job aids, SOPs, and educational resources for social work team members.

Required Qualifications

• Resides in California - 75% travel across our PACE Centers
• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) required.
• Active, unrestricted social work licensure in California (e.g., MSW, LCSW or equivalent), where applicable.
• 3–5+ years of experience teaching or training in the field, or in a clinical supervisory/educator capacity.
• Active clinical or macro social work experience, preferably in healthcare, PACE, geriatrics, or complex care settings.
• Demonstrated experience in facilitation and communication skills.
• Experience delivering learning programs.
• Experience developing workflows, SOPs, training materials, or process improvements.
• Strong understanding of housing instability, community resources, and social determinants of health.
• Ability to coach others, including leaders, using structured frameworks.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.

Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $128,000 - $145,000. This position is also eligible for a target annual bonus of 10% and may be eligible for additional incentive compensation, as applicable.The final compensation offered will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, education, certifications, geographical location, and business needs.In addition, this position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid parental leave; short- and long-term disability coverage; life insurance; flexible spending accounts; a 401(k) savings plan that includes a match; paid time off; and company paid holidays.
