  • A high school degree or equivalent is required, although a combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 4 years of experience in the automotive repair industry is required.
  • A valid operator’s license must be possessed and maintained.
  • Satisfactory pre- and post-employment screening results are required.
  • Effective organizational and analytical skills are required.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills are required.
  • The ability to interact effectively with others is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of PC-based automotive computer equipment and software applications is required.
  • The ability to respond to customer inquiries and refer customers to the appropriate associates is required.

  • The role requires lifting equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing, and complete dexterity with fine and gross motor skills.
  • The role requires working in an automotive shop environment with automotive tools and equipment and possible exposure to noise, temperature changes, dust, and fumes.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee all Service Department functions and activities at the Car Care Center to ensure effective store operation.
  • Sell automotive parts, mechanical and maintenance services, tires, and batteries.
  • Manage the performance, production, quality, and professional development of Service Advisors and Sales Associates in alignment with company standards.
  • Supervise and mentor Repair Technicians and assign work according to skill levels.
  • Assist with hiring, evaluation, training, and development of Repair Technicians and Service Advisors.
  • Exercise firm, fair, and consistent management of associates.
  • Verify that vehicle repairs and maintenance are completed accurately and professionally according to manufacturer guidelines and industry practices.
  • Retest repaired systems and road-test vehicles as needed.
  • Manage communication between the Car Care Center and customers, including repair updates, permissions, agreements, and expectations.
  • Assist Service Advisors and Sales Associates in explaining repair recommendations and obtaining customer approval for necessary repairs.
  • Organize work to maximize efficiency in vehicle movement, parts procurement, and other job functions.
  • Manage store operations and sales in the Manager’s absence, including creating estimates and work orders and assisting at the sales counter.
  • Open and close the Car Care store and manage scheduling.
  • Implement Car Care policies and procedures and ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration, M.A.P., state, and hazardous-material regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure proper maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Evaluate new equipment and follow safety protocols.
  • Complete paperwork, including repair information on work orders and state or emissions inspection details.
  • Review repair orders with Service Advisors and customers to ensure requested repairs are completed.
  • Monitor workflow and communicate with Service Advisors and Sales Associates about wait times and productivity.
  • Maintain awareness of automotive products and the company’s offerings to improve customer experiences and encourage repeat business.
  • Attend automotive meetings and seminars as recommended by management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Automotive Service Excellence certification is preferred.
