About this role
The Financial Reporting Team covers 4 areas: management accounting, staff costs, commercial analysis, and compliance. The Financial Reporting Team will manage the overall P&L for Ogilvy UK and will have overall responsibility for reporting to WPP. The Commercial Finance Team will focus on revenues whilst the Financial Reporting Team will report revenues and manage all agency costs including staff costs. The Financial Reporting team will work with the Commercial Finance team to deliver a commercially focused collaborative and compliant agency for Ogilvy UK.
You will mainly be responsible for the preparation for monthly reporting of profitabilities, team utilisation and forecasting of resources. You will need to quickly familiarise with the sources of OpCo data, where it is stored and how, and to possess the right skills to easily extract the data, process, share where required, and ensure the processing and storage is compliant.
As Ogilvy moves towards automation of reporting & data integration into the Delivery 2.0 Tool set, data quality is of paramount importance. The business will be making key decisions from the Quantum dashboards and the PMO teams will be Scoping, Estimating and Resourcing using this data, so Quality Control of this data is an important part of business improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Systems and Data Integration
- Strengthening the internal reporting system (Client, Craft and Capabilities dashboards)
- Using the systems (Quantum, Maconomy, CapPlan, Talent Tree, Scope, etc) effectively and efficiently

Internal Reporting and Analysis:
Supporting and providing the commercial analyst with accurate data to ensure the following tasks are performed and delivered in a timely manner:
- Preparing the profitabilities for WPP reporting and budgeting
- Ensuring the monthly internal reporting of Client Dashboards
- Using the systems effectively and efficiently (Maconomy, CapPlan, Quantum, etc.)
- Liaising with the Commercial Controllers, and assisting with analysis
- Working with the Commercial team in relation to the internal reporting, investigating large variances or problematic clients
- Ensuring the monthly internal reporting of Craft Dashboards
Commercial Reporting and Analysis
- Preparing the profitabilities for WPP reporting and budgeting
- Ensuring the monthly internal reporting of Client Dashboards
- Using the systems effectively and efficiently (Maconomy, CapPlan, Quantum, etc.)
- Working with the Commercial team in relation to the internal reporting, investigating large variances or problematic clients
- Ensuring the monthly internal reporting of Craft Dashboards
Teamwork and systems
- Working with the Commercial team to understand the reasons behind client margins
- Making suggestions for change and efficiency in all areas or reporting including ensuring efficient use of all systems
- Following best practice for all internal procedures and systems
- Ensuring best utilisation of data: mapping all local data to Master data values via the Q-admin, managing standard cost and charge out rates by Profile in Q-admin, checking employee data quality, reviewing Dashboards on a regular basis to ensure there are no issues, setting-up client rate table and maintaining for each reported client by business unit, setting-up new Reported client if required and mapping them accordingly, etc.
