Forcepoint names Vincent Merlin as Chief Marketing Officer.

Forcepoint names Vincent Merlin as Chief Marketing Officer. Global AI data security leader Forcepoint today announced that Vincent Merlin has joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer. Reporting to CEO Ryan Windham, Merlin will lead global marketing across brand, demand generation, product marketing and analyst relations as Forcepoint defines the AI data security category, enabling enterprises to keep command of AI while putting their best intelligence to work. "Trust used to be a posture, and it is becoming a deliverable for the agentic enterprise: every AI interaction with data governed, every decision recorded, every time," said Windham. "The next decade won't be won by organizations using the most AI. It will be won by those that never lost control of it. Vincent's global go-to-market expertise will help our customers and partners see what command of AI makes possible." Merlin joins Forcepoint from Proofpoint, where he spent 10 years in senior marketing leadership roles, most recently as Senior Vice President of Global Growth Marketing. His responsibilities spanned the worldwide marketing organization and inside sales, helping build the global growth engine and drive AI-led transformation as the company scaled from approximately $400 million to more than $2.4 billion in annual recurring revenue. He previously held global and regional marketing leadership roles at AVEVA, as well as Dell EMC and RSA. Merlin holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and an engineering degree in quantum photonics and optics from Institut d'Optique Graduate School. "Every technology worth adopting showed up before anyone knew how to secure it. The web, email, the cloud," said Merlin. "Companies moved anyway, and the ones that moved early could because somebody made it survivable. Forcepoint is doing that for AI, giving enterprises the confidence to put their best information to work while staying in control. That's why I'm here." Merlin will join Forcepoint executives, customers and industry leaders at Forcepoint AWARE: Decoding Agentic AI Security, a free virtual conference on Sept. 16, 2026. Forcepoint launches AI Data Security platform to govern and protect data across AI ecosystems.

Forcepoint launches AI Data Security platform to govern and protect data across AI ecosystems. New platform unifies visibility, governance, and protection for autonomous agents, sanctioned AI applications, and shadow AI environments Forcepoint has unveiled its new AI Data Security platform, designed to help organizations secure sensitive information across the rapidly expanding ecosystem of AI applications, autonomous agents, and generative AI tools. The company claims the platform is the first to combine AI oversight with data protection that follows sensitive information across every AI interaction, regardless of where it occurs. The launch comes as enterprises increasingly embed AI into daily operations, creating new challenges around the protection of sensitive corporate and customer data. According to Forcepoint, employees and AI agents are now routinely interacting with models, copilots, and applications that process critical business information, making data security and AI governance inseparable concerns. "The data you most want to protect is the data that makes AI worth using. Forcepoint's protection travels with your data into AI and proves it can be trusted there." Ryan Windham, CEO, Forcepoint The new platform aims to address this challenge by providing a unified framework for discovering, classifying, governing, and protecting sensitive data across cloud, web, email, endpoint, network, and AI environments. Rather than simply identifying risks, Forcepoint's approach enforces security policies directly on the data itself, ensuring protections remain in place as information moves through AI systems. Key capabilities include real-time monitoring of AI prompts and responses, data loss prevention for AI workflows, AI agent governance, confidential file protection, and controls designed to manage shadow AI usage. The platform also introduces an AI Agent Gateway, enabling organizations to enforce least-privilege access for autonomous agents interacting with enterprise applications such as Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and Jira. Forcepoint is also expanding visibility into AI-related risks through new AI Detection and Response (AIDR) capabilities, providing centralized oversight of approved and unsanctioned AI tools from a single management console. "Knowing where your data goes is table stakes now. Proving it stays protected is the job across the enterprise, inside and outside of security." Roland Cloutier, Strategic Security Advisor, Forcepoint The company says thousands of organizations across sectors including financial services, healthcare, government, and manufacturing already use Forcepoint technologies to secure AI initiatives. Existing customers can add the new AI Data Security capabilities to their current deployments. With AI agents and non-human identities growing rapidly across enterprise environments, Forcepoint believes the future of cybersecurity will depend on securing data wherever it travels, enabling organizations to embrace AI innovation while maintaining governance, compliance, and trust.
