Requirements
  • Fluency in English and Spanish required.
  • Master’s degree in social work with clinical experience in the program, or master’s degree in psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science in which direct clinical experience is a program requirement, or a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years clinical employment experience. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure.
  • First aid, CPR, Emergency behavior intervention certifications.
  • 2 years related experience and/or training, or 5 years clinical employment experience accompanying a bachelor’s degree.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
  • Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
  • Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
  • Demonstrate skills in group, individual, and family therapy; a range of treatment modalities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals.
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide crisis intervention according to training provided when needed to maintain a safe environment.

Responsibilities
  • Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
  • Maintain a case load in accordance with agency policies and procedures and licensing and contract standards.
  • Conduct intake interviews and initial child assessments.
  • Participate in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children.
  • Develop, implement, and update child therapeutic plans.
  • Provide counseling, crisis management, evaluations and other clinical functions as assigned.
  • Record relevant clinical data and report clinical information as required.
  • Maintain accurate and current child records and files.
  • Provide data to support staff regarding admission/discharge of children.
  • Facilitate continuity of services for children by the clinical department.
  • Meet predetermined deadlines that allow for timely processing and reunification of unaccompanied alien children.
  • Assist in discharge planning.
  • Maintain on-call schedule for the support of children and staff.
  • Maintain current knowledge of community resources.
  • Communicate effectively with referral sources and providers.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings and participate in team decisions and operations.
  • Participate in workshops, seminars, education programs and activities that promote professional growth and development.
  • Prepare and maintain assigned reports in accordance with agency policies and procedures and applicable licensing and contract standards.
  • Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by position supervisor.
  • Implement Compass Connections safety protocols including evacuating with children and other staff in case of an emergency.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
  • Maintain Compass Connections professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in Compass Connections employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, children, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times.
  • Prepare goal-oriented psychosocial diagnostic assessments, service plans and progress reports.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate a minimum of two children’s groups weekly on specific topics and issues.
  • Provide case consultations, weekly one-to-one counseling and/or crisis intervention for children, and biweekly family counseling for each family represented.
  • Meet all pre-determined deadlines required by program supervisor and federal partners.
  • Foster Care Programs - Support, encourage, and recruit foster parents.
