Requirements
  • A Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Fresh graduate status or up to 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis and structural mechanics, along with knowledge of mechanical design principles.
  • Basic understanding of durability, fatigue, and contact simulations.
  • Basic understanding of automotive product development processes, including Advanced Product Quality Planning, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, and validation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in an international and cross-functional engineering environment.
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop simulation expertise.
  • Willingness to relocate to China for long-term career development after approximately 2–3 years in the role.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for technical training and engineering collaboration.
  • Native Chinese speaker or fluent Mandarin is required.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Responsibilities
  • Perform CAE analyses for differential assemblies, including housings, gears, shafts, and related drivetrain components.
  • Develop finite element models for structural and durability simulations.
  • Support design optimization to achieve weight, durability, and performance targets.
  • Support correlation of simulation results with laboratory and validation test data.
  • Collaborate with design engineers throughout the product development process.
  • Participate in design reviews, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis activities, and technical risk assessments.
  • Prepare simulation reports and technical documentation.
  • Support prototype validation activities and engineering issue resolution.
  • Work closely with global simulation teams to develop local CAE capability and engineering best practices.
  • Continuously develop technical knowledge through structured training and mentoring.
Desired Qualifications
  • Internship, research project, or university experience in CAE or Finite Element Analysis.
  • Experience in drivetrains or transmission systems.
  • Experience with ANSYS, Abaqus, HyperMesh, or similar CAE software.
  • German language skills.

Johnson Electric reports $3.65B sales, net profit down 23% amid challenging market conditions

Johnson Electric, a global electric motors and motion subsystems manufacturer, reported annual sales of $3.65 billion for the year ended 31 March 2026, up 0.1% year-on-year but down 2% on a constant currency basis. Net profit attributable to shareholders fell 23% to $202 million, whilst adjusted net profit declined 13% to $234 million. The Automotive Products Group, representing 84% of sales, saw revenues decrease 3% on a constant currency basis, impacted by market share erosion among Chinese joint venture customers and sluggish demand in Europe and North America. The Industry Products Group returned to growth with sales up 2%. The company maintained a strong financial position with cash reserves of $902 million and a debt-to-capital ratio of 10%. The board recommended a final dividend of 44 HK cents per share.
