Thomas Surran, president and CEO of Resideo Technologies, purchased 15,000 shares of the company at $20.46 per share on 14 August 2026, according to an SEC Form 4 filing. The transaction increased his direct holdings by 5% to 338,573 shares, valued at approximately $6.9 million as of the market close on 14 August. Resideo Technologies manufactures and distributes comfort, energy management, and security solutions for residential and commercial customers. The company reported trailing twelve-month revenue of $7.7 billion and net income of $379 million, with a market capitalisation of $3 billion.
Resideo reported second-quarter results that beat analyst expectations, with revenue of $1.98 billion versus estimates of $1.94 billion and adjusted earnings per share of $0.83 against expectations of $0.68. CEO Thomas Surran said the company exceeded guidance across all metrics at both consolidated and business segment levels. The company achieved year-over-year revenue growth across substantially all sales channels and product families, driven primarily by customer demand volume. However, operational improvements were partly offset by inflationary input costs and legal settlement expenses. Resideo significantly reduced its full-year revenue guidance to $2.93 billion at the midpoint from $7.85 billion, a 62.7% decrease. Operating margin fell to 6.6% from 9.1% in the same quarter last year. Analysts focused questions on the guidance reduction, new product introductions, HVAC market conditions, and the outlook for OEM security.
Resideo Technologies' stock plummeted 21.5% this week despite beating second-quarter expectations. The smart-home tech company reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.83, exceeding analyst estimates by $0.15, whilst revenue of $1.98 billion topped forecasts by roughly $40 million. The sell-off followed disappointing forward guidance. Resideo recently completed its spin-off of ADI Global Distribution and now projects full-year sales between $2.9 billion and $2.95 billion, with adjusted EBITDA between $605 million and $625 million. The company's gross margin improved by 70 basis points, partly due to tariff refunds. However, investors appear concerned about Resideo's outlook following the major restructuring, as the market reassesses how to value the substantially altered entity.
Resideo Technologies has appointed Shane Harrison as chief financial officer, effective 1 September 2026. Harrison brings over 25 years of finance experience, most recently serving as CFO at NRC Health, a healthcare technology company. He previously held senior finance roles at PowerSchool, NAVEX Global, and FLIR Systems, and began his career at Deloitte and Lehman Brothers. Harrison holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Oregon and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. Resideo chief executive officer Tom Surran said he looks forward to partnering with Harrison to drive growth, expand margins, and generate cash flow. The appointment follows Resideo's recent spin-off transaction. Resideo develops control and sensing solutions for residential markets, serving over 150 million spaces globally.
