Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
  • Five or more years of experience in SRE, platform engineering, or observability roles is required.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and at least one major commercial observability platform such as Datadog, New Relic, or Splunk is required.
  • Strong understanding of OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and structured logging is required.
  • Proficiency in at least one general-purpose language such as Go, Python, or Java is required.
  • Experience operating high-cardinality, high-throughput metrics and log pipelines is required.
  • Strong understanding of service-level objectives, error budgets, and site reliability engineering principles is required.
  • Experience integrating observability with continuous integration and continuous delivery and incident management tooling is required.
  • A solid grasp of Linux internals, networking, and container platforms is required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Design and operate metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting platforms.
  • Manage the full observability stack, including collection agents, pipelines, long-term storage, dashboards, and alerting workflows.
  • Improve observability usability, signal quality, and operational return on investment.
  • Build and operate observability platforms at scale.
  • Translate noisy telemetry into actionable insight for engineers and business stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Thanos, Mimir, Cortex, Loki, or Tempo at scale.
  • Contributions to OpenTelemetry or observability open-source projects.
  • Familiarity with eBPF-based observability tooling.
  • Experience driving observability cost optimization initiatives.
  • Exposure to regulated environments with audit-grade logging requirements.
