Ferguson 1Q margins expand as volume remains slightly negative.

Ferguson 1Q margins expand as volume remains slightly negative. Ferguson posts margin expansion and profit growth in its fiscal first quarter, even as residential end markets remained challenged. On May 5, plumbing, PVF, HVAC, infrastructure and industrial supplies distributor Ferguson Enterprises reported its results for the 2026 first quarter, which ended March 31. Amid what Ferguson CEO Kevin Murphy described as an uncertain and challenging market, the results were led by strong non-residential market revenue growth driven by large capital projects. For the first quarter, Ferguson reported net sales of $7.5 billion up 3.6% year-over-year. The figure was driven by 2.8% organic revenue growth and 0.8% growth from acquisitions. Meanwhile, price inflation was in the mid-single digits, the company noted. Ferguson's 1Q26 U.S. sales results by customer group: | Customer Group | % of U.S. Sales | 2026 YoY +/- | 2025 YoY +/- | | Waterworks | 23% | +5% | +11% | | Ferguson Home | 21% | -2% | Flat | | Residential Trade Plumbing | 15% | -2% | -4% | | HVAC | 11% | 1% | +5% | | Commercial/Mechanical | 16% | +18% | +9% | | Fire & Fabrication | 3% | -6% | -5% | | Facilities Supply | 4% | +3% | -3% | | Industrial | 7% | +10% | +1% | | Total U.S. 100% | +3.5% | +3.1% | While net sales in the U.S. increase by 3.5%, with organic revenue growth of 2.9% and further 0.6% contribution from acquisitions, Ferguson officials said that 1Q U.S. residential end markets - representing about half of total U.S. business - remained challenged. Residential revenue was down 1% in the quarter, meanwhile non-residential revenue was up 8% with on-going large capital project activity and "growth in open order volumes and bidding activity." 1Q26 gross margin was 31.0% - up 30 basis points year-over-year. Operating profit was $612 million (8.2% margin), up 20.7% year-over-year, with adjusted operating profit of $647 million (8.7% margin) up 13.8%. Net income of $414 million topped the $345 million of a year earlier, and adjusted EBITDA of $711 million increased 9.2% year-over-year. Rebuilding Together Partners with Ferguson to Expand Impact and Deliver Critical Home Repairs Where They're Needed Most

Rebuilding Together partners with Ferguson to expand impact and deliver critical home repairs where they're needed most. After completing eight home projects across six markets, the partnership now brings safer, healthier housing to the Hampton Roads community. WASHINGTON, DC, Jan. 12, 2026 - Rebuilding Together, the leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to repairing homes and revitalizing communities, is expanding its nationwide reach through its long-standing corporate partnership with Ferguson. Together, Rebuilding Together and Ferguson have supported home repair projects in six markets over the past year, and are now extending their reach in Virginia through Rebuilding Together of Hampton Roads. With Natasha Stewart recently appointed as executive director, Rebuilding Together of Hampton Roads is well-positioned to deepen its impact in a region where safe, healthy housing is needed most. More than 510,000 households in the Hampton Roads region spend more than 30% of their income on housing, and half of the homes were built before 1980. Aging infrastructure, coastal flooding, and accessibility needs for veterans and older adults leave many families living in unsafe conditions. To address these challenges, the affiliate has already begun providing repairs to homeowners in need. Take Amber for example, a single mom of three, whose heating and cooling system failed just before winter. With one child battling severe asthma and another living with autism, the broken system was more than an inconvenience; it was a health crisis. Volunteers and contractors rallied to restore the HVAC system, replace damaged doors, patch a hole in the roof, and weatherize windows. Today, her family is safe, warm, and healthy. "We're honored to serve this community and address critical repair needs that have gone unmet for far too long," said Natasha Stewart, executive director of Rebuilding Together of Hampton Roads. "With strong local partnerships and dedicated volunteers, we're making homes safer and lives better - because everyone deserves to live in a place where they can thrive." Ferguson, headquartered in the Hampton Roads area, helped make this vision possible by providing seed funding for the affiliate's launch and first two repair projects. The company has partnered nationally with Rebuilding Together since 2021 to complete 31 projects nationwide and continues to champion its mission. "At Ferguson, we believe housing is the foundation for strong communities," said Melissa Hazelwood, Ferguson's director of corporate social responsibility and chair of the Rebuilding Together of Hampton Roads affiliate board. "We're proud to support Rebuilding Together as they expand their reach and help more families across our community." The addition of the Hampton Roads affiliate strengthens the organization's growing presence in Virginia, where the Richmond affiliate has long provided repair services. In its first year, the Hampton Roads affiliate completed three home repair projects with the help of 25 volunteers - and this is just the beginning. As a movement of neighbors helping neighbors, Rebuilding Together and its partners are building a future of safe homes and communities for everyone.
