Requirements
  • 5+ years of product management experience with developer tools, infrastructure-as-code, or policy enforcement products.
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and the HashiStack, including familiarity with Terraform and at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • 1+ years of experience with infrastructure governance, policy frameworks, or compliance tools.
  • Familiarity with modern programming languages and policy definition languages (HCL, Sentinel, etc.).
  • Strong technical acumen with a solid understanding of infrastructure security, compliance workflows, and policy enforcement.
  • Proven experience in creating and driving strategic product roadmaps with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to balance technical depth with user-focused product design, ensuring that Sentinel remains a powerful but accessible framework.
  • Excellent communication skills: Able to simplify complex concepts and articulate the value of policy-as-code to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with user and market research to guide product decisions, backed by analytical rigor and the ability to prioritize effectively.
Responsibilities
  • Define and Build differentiated Policy workflows and enable fully compliant Infrastructure Management
  • Define and own the product strategy for Sentinel with a focus on making it the industry-leading Policy-as-Code framework.
  • Drive alignment and deep integration between the Sentinel framework and key HashiCorp tools (Terraform, Vault, Consul, Nomad).
  • Drive Policy workflow across HCP Terraform and the HashiCorp Product Suite
  • Lead efforts to advance Sentinel’s integration with Terraform for policy validation during infrastructure provisioning.
  • Collaborate with product teams across Vault, Consul, and other HashiCorp products to expand Sentinel’s policy enforcement capabilities.
  • Engage directly with enterprise clients and community users to gather insights into policy management needs, compliance challenges, and user pain points.
  • Conduct user interviews, usability testing, and customer discovery sessions to refine product roadmap and prioritize new features.
  • Own the Policy product roadmap, setting priorities by balancing market opportunities, user feedback, and strategic alignment with the HashiCorp vision.
  • Develop and maintain Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and user stories for engineering, ensuring that product objectives are clearly communicated and aligned with technical feasibility.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to write acceptance criteria for Sentinel features and manage feature development from conception through delivery.
  • Stay at the forefront of policy-as-code trends and evolving industry standards to ensure Sentinel remains a cutting-edge framework.
  • Explore new features that can further automate policy management, enhance security and compliance workflows, and extend Sentinel’s utility across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and education teams to create compelling messaging around Sentinel’s value proposition for infrastructure governance, security, and compliance.
  • Lead product education sessions for internal teams (Sales Engineers, Support) and external customers, empowering them to articulate Sentinel’s capabilities and benefits.
  • Champion policy-as-code and Sentinel within the wider infrastructure-as-code and cloud management ecosystem.
  • Represent HashiCorp at industry conferences, webinars, and user groups to share Sentinel’s impact on policy-driven infrastructure management.
