- At least 5 years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
- ASE Master certification with L1 certification, or a plan to achieve it, is preferred or alternatively expected as a development plan.
- Ability to diagnose and repair all makes and models of vehicles.
- Ability to meet or exceed hourly goals.
- Ability and aptitude to learn additional skills and processes.
- Ability to use tablets, smartphones, and computers, and to provide detailed photo, video, and written inspection reports and technician findings.
- Ability to lift or move more than 100 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work with tools on vehicles lifted overhead.
- Ability to work in tight spaces dictated by the vehicle repair.
- Manual dexterity to use hand tools efficiently.
- Ability to walk and stand for most of the workday.
- Ability to drive vehicles with manual transmissions.
- Ability to navigate a computer efficiently.
- Diagnose and repair vehicles using automotive knowledge and technical skills.
- Build experience servicing a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles.
- Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections.
- Work with a team to troubleshoot customer concerns quickly and effectively.
- Follow and promote standards for safety, cleanliness, and organization.
- Work closely with the service department to communicate customer concerns effectively.
- Collaborate with other technicians to solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver results.
- Diesel experience is a plus.
- A desire for long-term career development.
