Job Description
The Summer Investment Analyst Internship provides students with hands-on experience in real estate investment, multifamily housing development, and apartment community acquisitions. Interns will support the evaluation of investment opportunities related to apartment complexes, mixed-use developments, and residential real estate projects while gaining exposure to underwriting, market analysis, development planning, and portfolio management.
This internship is ideal for students interested in careers in real estate development, real estate private equity, acquisitions, asset management, commercial real estate, or investment analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze potential apartment complex acquisition and development opportunities.
- Assist in financial underwriting and investment modeling for multifamily projects.
- Conduct market research on rental trends, occupancy rates, demographics, and competitive properties.
- Evaluate project feasibility, development costs, and projected investment returns.
- Support due diligence activities for acquisitions and development projects.
- Prepare investment presentations, financial reports, and market analyses.
- Monitor project performance against budgets, schedules, and investment objectives.
- Collaborate with development, construction, finance, and operations teams throughout the investment lifecycle.
- Assist in portfolio analysis and asset performance reporting.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Finance
- Real Estate
- Economics
- Business Administration
- Construction Management
- Urban Planning
- Engineering
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to analyze financial and market data to support investment decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework in Real Estate Finance, Investments, Economics, Accounting, or Urban Development.
- Familiarity with financial modeling and valuation methodologies.
- Understanding of multifamily real estate investment concepts.
- Experience with Argus, CoStar, Yardi, or similar real estate platforms is a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in real estate development and investment management.
