Requirements
  • Demonstrated strong skills in conflict resolution, verbal and written communication, time management, coordination and event planning, and human relations
  • Proficiency with standard MS Office software applications
Responsibilities
  • Provides professional advising services to prospective students, continuing students, families, and members of the MSU Denver community regarding financial aid application processes, eligibility, and policies
  • Determines financial aid eligibility by assessing students' financial situations and explaining complex calculations
  • Keeps up to date on state and federal regulations and internal policies to ensure compliance and accurate interpretation of information
  • Assists in the creation and management of office initiatives, including special projects
Desired Qualifications
  • Associates Degree or 2 years working in financial aid as a student or regular employee
  • Proficiency with Banner or similar financial aid software
  • Expertise in federal and institutional need analysis and knowledge of professional judgment techniques
  • Experience resolving data integrity issues in and discrepancies within Banner
  • Expert knowledge of financial aid processes, guidelines, and procedures
  • Experience working with both traditional and online programs
