Responsibilities
  • Develop internal programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Manage customs brokers and work with suppliers and customers to oversee international transactions
  • Advise on proper customs valuations, including annual U.S. Customs reconciliations
  • Act as internal expert on current import and export laws and regulations across the entire spectrum of Redwood Materials
  • Identify cost savings opportunities related to free trade agreements, preferential duty treatment, and other tariff programs
  • Manage, review, and provide guidance regarding International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administrations Regulations (EAR), Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), INCOTERMS, etc. for Redwood Materials personnel on import and/or export related shipments
  • Plan and document all Trade Compliance Policies and procedures to ensure compliance with U.S. export and import regulations
  • Train logistics personnel to create pertinent shipping documents including international transportation and shipping of hazardous materials
  • Act as an initial escalation point for daily trade-related operational challenges
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Masters Degree in related field
  • Licensed Customs Broker required
  • 5+ years' experience in trade compliance
  • Experience with USMCA and NAFTA analysis
  • Proven knowledge and experience advising on trade agreements/export controls and customs compliance
